My New Hobby-Gardening

I have a new passion now, planting herbs! Fresh herbs are really expensive here. For a small amount of herbs in grocery stores, it cost way too much. I don't use herbs a lot because of the price. I can still cook without it but they add flavor to your cooking. 

I asked my mother-in-law for a small amount of dirt yesterday so I can replant my flower that was dying. She said she ran out already. Then when we drop her at a grocery store, she got me a big bag of soil for planting. That made me want to plant! She is really nice.

Today, I couldn't stop telling Steven that he needs to come with me to buy seeds for me to plant. He said he will do what his wife wants. Yesterday I went fishing with him so it's his turn :). I got basil seeds for now. I love fried basil with pork. I tried planting some of the seeds using pellets and some in egg carton, others in pot.

Natural Appetite Suppressant

My friend told me about a natural appetite suppressant that singer-actress Beyonce used for slimming. She said I need two tbsp of lime juice, 2 tbsp of honey, and 2 tbsp of cayenne pepper. Mix it with 8 oz of water an drink it. She said to be careful because it will make you go to the toilet a lot. If you want another method also, lipo-6 black is also one. I will try the Beyonce method soon. I want to see if it will work for me. I am hesitant with cayenne pepper but who knows, it might work.

Mother's Day

We made pizzas for Mother's Day celebration yesterday. We brought it to my mother-in-law's house and baked it there. I made a ranch pizza with bbq chicken and I ate 2 big pieces of it. Steven was really disappointed that the pizzas became soggy. It was still good and special. During lunch though before eating those pizza, Steven gave me a treat at a coffee shop. It was so good and really loaded with calories. Then I had rice when we got home and then the pizza and chocolate cake I made. I know I have gained and really trying to lose weight. Sometimes it makes me think of using diet pills with ephedra so I can lose easily someday. Now I must concentrate to really be disciplined with my eating.

Seafood

No matter what I try, I am still tempted to eat a lot. Last night, I had to cook the crab Steven bought for me. Sweet! I just can't help not to eat. I need an appetite suppresants. Maybe there are natural ones that I could take. I finished half of the crab today. They have big crabs and it's as yummy as a crab can be. I love it!

I hope someday Steven and I could go crabbing. I would love to catch my own, cook them, and eat them. Seafood is really amazing! It's really dangerous too. Oh, Steven was able to catch two fish and his brother was able to catch four. They went fishing for trout. Yum! It was good!

Caregiving

I got to talk with my friend who was my classmate at caregiving today. She said she is working and making good income. I'm really happy for her. I always want to work as a caregiver here but I need to study again and take the license. My problem here if I go on private is not being able to drive and have a car. :( Someday.

Pet Parrot

Steven and I are still deciding whether to have a tv when we move to our new apartment. Our lease ends in August. I feel sad that my friend Nettie won't be able to pick me up whenever I go to quilt ministry. She brought me to her house one time to eat lunch with her first before going on a hike. The tv was on and guess who was watching? Her sister's pet parrot. It was funny! I did like her tv stand. It's one of those modern design and really beautiful. It is one of the tv stands that I like.

Farm Town

I am addicted to Farm Town game in Facebook. It's a game about building your own farm by planting Plum trees, Apple trees, vegetables, and many others. You can have cows, horses, and other farm animals. It's really fun and truly exciting. I love the Plum trees because it gives out great color and cherry trees also. This game is one of my favorite and it's just amazing how someone could create a game like Farm Town. Brilliant!

Sunday School Helper

Two of my quilting friends asked me to substitute for them at a children's Sunday school in our church this month. One is going away for anniversary celebration while the other for hiking. It's only for two Sundays so I accepted. Last night, all the Sunday school teachers met with the pastor and they also made me join. I thought I was going to just sit there and listen. Then the pastor started discussing about the need for a copier person, once who will prepare the materials for all the teachers to use during the teaching. I just suddenly felt the urge to take it. I whispered to my friends I'd like to do that but with another person. I decided to talk to the leader at the end of the meeting. However, lol! My friend Nettie raised her hand before the meeting ended and told the pastor I want to do the copying and preparing of materials. It was funny! I didn't want everyone to know yet but it's okay. I really felt God wanted me to do this so here I am Lord, for your glory! :)

My Goal to Lose Weight

One of my goals beginning this month is to lose some weight. The pants I bought when I first got here would not fit me anymore. I feel sad. Part of my plan to lose weight is maybe to use weight loss supplements or to just exercise regularly and eat less fattening food. I still have a lot of desserts I made from last week. I will be making more soups so it will help fill me up. Drinking water is also a problem for me since I always forget to drink plenty of water. I also need to take a before and after photo. 

Scenic Sunday - Florence

My friend and I went to Florence yesterday. We got some really good photos of the trip. 

Netbooks are In

Gadgets have really changed over the years. It is becoming smaller, lighter, and better. Like computers for example, before it was just desktop computers then laptops came and now netbooks. Netbooks are also laptop computers but smaller, more light weight, low cost, highly portable, energy efficient alternative compared to a full sized laptop computer. I just love it because it's affordable. My husband would love to have a Netbook. Now we don't have to save much to get one.

Another Day in Quilting

Yesterday, I wasn't sure whether I should join quilting or not. My friend Nettie went hiking so she couldn't come and pick me. Two ladies are celebrating their birthdays this month so I needed to give our fat quarter gifts to them. I'm glad I went. I took the bus carrying my sewing machine, lol! It became heavy when I was walking to church but glad I made it. :D

I'm doing another crazy quilt but I got to bring the one I made before so I could put strings on them. People in church will tie them as they pray for the person receiving it. I feel the new one I'm making will be more beautiful. :D

Selling Houses

My friend has been waiting for her house to get sold. Finally, after a lot of prayer, her house was finally sold with a good amount. A lot of people are having a hard time selling their houses here these days but we can always pray and ask God for it to be sold. I was going through sites and ran through mortgage life insurance rates. That's why I remember my friend asking us to help her pray. It's good to be able to get an insurance both for life and home mortgage to be secure. 

Applying for a Job

This week my goal is to apply for jobs that I think I can do and would enjoy. There are sales jobs I found but I'm not sure if I'm going to be good at selling. I did find jobs like working at a coffee shop and as food server at a retirement home. I like being with people and just serving them but I don't like coffee.

I used Steven's resume and changed it to mine. He helped me edit it and hope I will have the courage to go and apply to shops. 

Fishing

My right arm has been hurting for a while now. It scares me because I have been using the computer too much that's why it's hurting. I will try to not use it so much from now on. 

Last Sunday, my husband finally got to try his fishing pole. It was disappointing that we didn't catch any fish. The first spot they went to was not a good spot but then my nephew scare me with worms so I ran away and found this one spot where it was just beautiful (photo above).

They still didn't catch any fish. It was a tiring day. I told my husband that he should take a day off during the week to go fishing. That way, not a lot of people will fish. He said he got his b-day off which is really awesome. :)

Have you ever heard of a disease called mesothelioma? I have never heard of it. I searched online for it to know the meaning. It's a type of cancer that is caused by a type of mineral called Asbestos. This type of mineral has the ability to withstand heat.
